WELL-KNOWN city centre pub Mother Mac’s has teamed up with Irish whiskey bonder JJ Corry to launch a new brand of the spirit.

The product will be available exclusively at the pub, which is located at High Street.

This release revives the idea of community whiskey.

That’s because for generations, pubs across Ireland offered a trusted house whiskey served by the glass, often drawn straight from the cask or later from the optic behind the bar.

By making this collaboration the house pour at Mother Macs Public House, the whiskey becomes part of the daily life of the pub — accessible, familiar, and rooted in community.

As well as reimaging the historic practice of whiskey bonding, it is also a more sustainable and community-focused way to enjoy the popular spirit.

By reducing packaging, reducing transport demands, and focusing on local distribution, the collaboration lowers environmental impact while supporting local jobs and traditional skills.

Ireland’s first modern whiskey bonder, JJ Corry is based in the village of Cooraclare in west Clare.
