Bray Wanderers are set to lose a key member of their promotion-chasing squad.
Cian Doyle has agreed a multi-year deal with Grimsby Town, with the League of Ireland side to receive an undisclosed fee for the 21-year-old.
Midfielder Doyle is expected to complete his transfer to the League Two side in the coming days.
A former Bray Wanderers academy prospect, he also had a spell in the Shelbourne academy.
He made six Leinster Senior Cup appearances for the Tolka Park side in 2023 and 2024, before he returned to Bray for the start of the 2025 campaign.
Doyle made a total of 39 appearances last year in all competitions, while he played another 25 first-team games this year.
He has scored eight goals in 70 appearances ahead of his move to Grimsby, who are aiming to improve on last season’s seventh placed finish in League Two.
The Mariners have won the race for Doyle’s signature despite interest from elsewhere in England, Scotland and Belgium.
