HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – The Huntsville Museum of Art is rolling out an exhibit dedicated to one of the most influential artists of the 20th century.
The Andy Warhol exhibit focuses on the artist’s impact on film, fashion, and photography.
Some of Warhol’s work includes the Campbell Soup Can and a portrait of Marilyn Monroe.
Leaders said bringing Warhol’s work to the Rocket City is a chance for the museum to showcase its collections to people who otherwise might not visit.
“I think it shows the caliber of the exhibitions that we’re bringing here to the Huntsville Museum of Art, the caliber of exhibitions that we’re bringing to our community,” Chief Curator Natalie Mead said.
“Warhol is one of the most iconic, most recognizable artists, and we’re thrilled to be able to present him in a way that other museums and other institutions haven’t.”
The exhibit officially opens on July 31 and will run until October 18.
