It’s been seven years in the making but Le Shiv are ready to unleash their debut album into the world — and back it up with an Australian headline tour.

Hot off the back of a regional run supporting Ocean Alley, the Sydney-based five piece are ready to pack the van again and head out with their debut Yada Yada under their belts.

Reminiscent of Angles-era early-2010 The Strokes and guitar-driven indie rock, the members of Le Shiv have been honing their sound in verious iterations over more than a decade. Now you’ll be able to witness their first fully-formed project live in the flesh.

“We’ve been a band for almost seven years and we’ve never made an album… it’s all we’ve ever wanted to do,” frontman Pencil said about the album.

“We’ve never been short of songs, but this is the first time it all came together as an album. It took over a year to write and record, and across that time the songs really start to change and move around, so as usual it’s hard to pin a genre on it.”

Le Shiv’s Australian tour kicks off in Meanjin/Brisbane on October 16, winds its way around the country with stops ar a bunch of intimate spaces before wrapping up in Dharawal Land/Wollongong on November 14. A full month on the road over spring, what a treat.

Tickets are on sale from Friday 7 August, with a presale happening the day before. Check out the band’s website for more information.
