A new Hallmark Christmas movie filmed at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville will premiere December 5, the network announced.
“A Grand Biltmore Christmas” will air on Hallmark Channel as part of the network’s annual “Countdown to Christmas” lineup and will be available for streaming December 6 on Hallmark+.
The movie stars Holland Roden, Niall Matter, Andie MacDowell and Jonathan Frakes.
The plot begins on Christmas Eve in 1895, when 13-year-old Elizabeth meets Michael, a Biltmore House trespasser. Elizabeth helps Michael avoid getting caught, but he mysteriously disappears.
Twenty years later, Elizabeth returns to Biltmore and to her surprise, sees Michael again at a Christmas gala. She discovers he is a tourist from present day who traveled back in time using a magical hourglass in Biltmore’s library. The pair uses the hourglass to time travel to the modern world, where they grow closer as they try to figure out how to send Elizabeth back to 1915.
The Hallmark movie marks the second filmed at the historic Asheville estate.
