Savannah Guthrie reunited with her former Today costar and forever friend Hoda Kotb amid her extended hiatus from the beloved NBC morning show.
Kotb, 61, showcased the sweet reunion via Instagram on Thursday, August 6, sharing a loving photo of the two on a couch in a grassy backyard with their arms around one another, alongside the caption: “My favorite place…next to you ❤️ @savannahguthrie.”

Fans of Kotb and Guthrie, 54, were overjoyed to see the beloved television personalities spending time together, taking to the comments section to share their thoughts.
“Two of my favorite TV women,” one fan wrote. “Supporting each other! Love you two!”
“Big hugs and love all around,” another said, with a third adding, “You can feel the love through this picture.”
A fourth fan shared, “Happy Savannah is with a good friend.”

The post comes as Guthrie remains absent from the Today show while filming the first season of Wordle, a game show inspired by the fan-favorite game from The New York Times. Guthrie predicted the new series would air on NBC in 2027.
“I’m headed over to shoot Wordle over the next few weeks,” Guthrie told viewers during the July 16 broadcast of Today. “We’re going to shoot the whole season, and we’re super excited. Cannot wait for everyone to see it.”
The show was announced in May and is being produced by The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon.

Her hiatus also comes as her mother, Nancy Guthrie, remains missing more than six months after police believe she was abducted from her Tucson, Ariz., home.
She officially returned to the Today show on April 6, following an extended absence amid the ongoing search for her mother.
Prior to her return to the show, Savannah sat down with Hoda for a televised interview to discuss her mother’s disappearance.
Savannah and her family are offering a reward of more than $1 million for Nancy’s “recovery.”

“If you’ve been waiting and you haven’t been sure, let this be your sign to please come forward,” she said in a video posted to her Instagram page on February 24. “Tell what you know, and help us bring our beloved mom home, so that we can either celebrate a glorious, miraculous homecoming, or celebrate the beautiful, brave and courageous and noble life that she has lived.”
The Guthrie family’s $1 million reward is being offered separately from an $100,000 reward from the FBI, bringing the total potential reward for information leading to Nancy’s whereabouts to $1.1 million.
