HMD allegedly wants to remake the Nokia N95 again.
Following a cancellation of a Nokia N95 remake in 2020, a new report says HMD Global is giving the slider phone another go. There’s no info regarding its specs and launch date, but it will most likely carry the HMD brand name.
While HMD held the license to manufacture and sell smartphones with the Nokia branding, it was expected the Finnish company would remake some classic Nokia smartphones just as it did with a handful of classic Nokia feature phones. Unfortunately, that never happened, even though there were leaks and even official reports it was working on such projects, such as a slider smartphone akin to the Nokia N95, that was eventually cancelled.
Now, a new leak says HMD is taking another stab at it, specifically the same Nokia N95 remake that got canned in 2020. The info comes from smashx_60, the leaker known for HMD-related news. According to a post on X, HMD is reported to be preparing to introduce a slider phone that may resemble the cancelled Nokia N95 remake from 2020.

However, the upcoming smartphone will feature a new design that better fits this era, which is expected considering smartphones have changed since 2020. While no specs have been revealed, the source says that the phone is expected to launch at an accessible price point.
Since HMD has given up on making flagship smartphones, the upcoming device might be a premium mid-range model like the HMD Skyline or even a lower priced device like the HMD Fusion (available on Amazon for $249.99). Notwithstanding, while the source has a good track record when it comes to HMD and Nokia-related leaks, we still advise that the information should be taken with a pinch of salt until more concrete details surface.
