Dr. Doom? Never heard of him. Robert Downey Jr. is reprising his role as Iron Man for the new attraction Avengers Infinity Defense at Avengers Campus in Disney’s California Adventure. And he’s not the only one from Earth-616 coming back. Anthony Mackie joins as Captain America, Iman Vellani as Ms. Marvel, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye. For the ride, you’ll get a briefing from Ms. Marvel in the pre-show, where she’ll prep you for your mission as a new recruit. As the newest member of the team, you will help reassemble the Avengers to fight King Thanos, traveling through favorite Marvel hot spots like Asgard, Wakanda, and New York City. At D23’s Horizons: Disney Experiences, Disney showed some behind-the-scenes clips of Downey Jr. and co. putting their old suits back on to be immortalized in Disney Parks lore.
Avengers Infinity Defense opens in 2028, when you can tell the person next to you: “You know, before he was Dr. Doom, he used to be Iron Man.”
