Love is Blind UK
netflix
The ultimate guilty TV pleasure is back! If you don’t know how it works, we’ll meet a new set of singles who will date each other sight unseen (by way of pods and with a little guidance from hosts Matt and Emma Willis) and find out if true love really is blind. It’s only after a couple gets engaged that they’ll meet face-to-face, return to real life, and attempt to add a physical element to their emotional bond. And at the end of it all? They may – or may not – walk down the aisle. Arriving on Netflix on Wednesday 19th August.
Ludwig

It was the BBC’s biggest new scripted show of 2024 and now Ludwig is finally getting a second run. Now a fully-fledged police consultant, puzzle genius John “Ludwig” Taylor (David Mitchell) will once again use his unique skillset to hunt down criminals in rural Cambridgeshire, while also trying to piece together exactly what happened to his brother, who inexplicably vanished and abandoned his family. Anna Maxwell Martin also returns, with Fleabag’s Sian Clifford and Celebrity Traitors’ Mark Bonnar joining the cast. Series 2 is arriving on BBC One and BBC iPlayer at 9pm on Thursday 20th August.
Dragons’ Den
BBC
A new line-up of budding entrepreneurs is stepping foot inside the Den in the hope of wooing Susie Ma, Jenna Meek, Peter Jones, Deborah Meaden and Steven Bartlett. In the new episodes, we’ll meet a chemist who says she can wash away waste with her powder-to-liquid haircare products, a mother and son with a handcrafted spice blend business and two social media stars hoping their traditional confectionary concept goes down a treat. Arriving on BBC One and BBC iPlayer at 8pm on Thursday 20th August.
Blood Sacrifice
Jörgen Johansson
Oh, how we love a good crime thriller. This five-part Swedish series introduces us to lead investigator, Thomas (Jakob Oftebro), who’s forced to work with his estranged father and former detective Alfred (Peter Andersson) when it appears a killer is on the loose – and they’re targeting police officers. As bodies mount and the attacks draw closer to home, the pair must put decades of resentment aside to stop a brutal killer before time runs out. A brilliantly twisty watch. Arriving on Netflix on Thursday 20th August.
You’re Killing Me
Acorn TV
Move over Sherlock, there’s a new detective in town and she goes by the name of Allie (Brooke Shields). In fact, there’s two of them in You’re Killing Me, which takes us to a quaint New England town where bestselling novelist, Allie, forms an unlikely alliance with an aspiring writer and podcaster Andi (Amalia Williamson) to find the killer of a close friend. We’ll also meet an actual detective named Jack (Tom Cavanagh) from the local police department – but with Jack also trying to find his feet having moved from the big city, it seems the trio are going to have their work cut out unravelling this murder mystery. Arriving on U&Drama on Friday 21st August.
