An Garda Síochána is urging people in Kerry to be vigilant to an accommodation fraud scam in the county.
Killarney gardaí say the scam has defrauded a number of people in the town in recent days.
It purports to be leasing a house in the Killarney area, with the alleged landlord pressuring people to send a deposit before viewing to secure the house.
Garda Cathy Murphy says such accommodation frauds are particularly prevalent in the run up to a new college year.
She is urging people to always double check details, use verified sites or agents where possible, and never rush into a deal.
