The royal family has decamped to the Scottish highlands for their annual summer vacation, and Queen Camilla was recently spotted out and about near Balmoral Castle with her family.
The Queen was joined in the town of Ballater, Scotland—just a few miles from Balmoral—by her sister Annabel Elliott, her daughter Laura Lopes, and her rarely-seen granddaughter, Eliza Lopes, 18. Also reportedly present were her 16-year-old twin grandsons Gus and Harry Lopes (Eliza’s younger brothers), but they were not photographed. Camilla and her family went into a Scottish cashmere store and a bookstore.
For the shopping trip, Queen Camilla kept it casual in jeans and a barn jacket; her granddaughter chose a pair of slouchy denim pants, adding a floral red bomber jacket. Her daughter Laura (partially obscured behind Eliza, above) wore an oversized blazer.
Eliza last made a public appearance at King Charles and Queen Camilla’s 2023 coronation; before that, her most notable public outing was as a bridesmaid at Prince William and Kate Middleton’s 2011 royal wedding.

Queen Camilla’s family keeps a lower profile, though both her sister and her children Laura and Tom sometimes attend events with her. At her coronation, her dress featured a tribute to her grandchildren, with their names embroidered throughout her Bruce Oldfield gown.
It is not known whether or not Camilla’s family is with the royals at Balmoral. King Charles formally began his summer stay at the castle today by carrying out an inspection of the Balaklava Company, 5th Battalion, The Royal Regiment of Scotland. Princess Anne’s children, Zara and Peter, are reportedly already at Balmoral, as are their spouses and children.
