Wise customers can now scan and pay at LankaQR merchants across Sri Lanka.
The service is available to Wise customers from the UK, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia and Brazil while visiting the country.
Operated by LankaPay, LankaQR is Sri Lanka’s national interoperable QR payment network connecting participating financial institutions and merchants.
LankaPay enabled the service through its existing partnership with Alipay+, giving international visitors another way to pay local merchants.

Channa de Silva, CEO of LankaPay announced the rollout on LinkedIn,
“This will be a significant boost to the existing partnership between LankaPay and Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority in working towards promoting Sri Lanka Tourism.”
