Strictly Come Dancing’s Janette Manrara is set to join Stranger Things star Noah Schnapp in an exciting new project. The pair will appear in the world premiere of Affluenza, a “provocative” play written and directed by Andy Sandberg.
“When a teen’s drunken car ride ends in devastation, the verdict comes down to one question – is it possible to be too affluent to know the difference between right and wrong?” reads the synopsis (via Riverside Studios).
“Set in the ultra-wealthy Hamptons, the show explores themes of moral accountability, family legacy and the American justice system, while asking: ‘Do any of us truly understand the cost and generational impact of privilege and opulence?'” it continues.

Affluenza will run at Riverside Studios in London, from 26 September to 21 November. Manrara and Schnapp will be joined by Juliet Cowan, Wallis Currie-Wood and Rupert Young (via WhatsOnStage).
The former Strictly professional announced the news on Instagram on Thursday (20 August), following her recent departure from spin-off series It Takes Two. She described the upcoming project as a “new chapter”, and shared her excitement “for what’s to come”.
“I can finally say that I will be joining the cast of the world premiere of AFFLUENZA at Riverside Studios in London,” she posted, alongside an image of the cast announcement.
“I have always loved telling stories — through dance, movement and presenting. Now, I get to tell one in a whole new way… and this one is a conversation starter. New chapter. New challenges. Excited for what’s to come,” she added.

The star received heaps of encouragement from fans in the comment section, as well as support from her loved ones, with her husband and fellow Strictly dancer Aljaž Škorjanec writing: “Proud doesn’t describe it! Well done Bučka.”
Other well wishers included Strictly co-stars such as Gorka Marquez, Fleur East, Jowita Przystał, Dianne Buswell and Amy Dowden.
Strictly Come Dancing will return on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in September.
