ROBOT PHONE device is achieving fame for its unique gimbal camera setup, and it looks like Honor is planning to use this interesting imaging module! A new leak mentions that the Chinese OEM could have bigger plans with the device’s cam systems.

Weibo leaker @DigitalChatStation reported that Honor is planning to develop another device with a gimbal camera bump. The OEM is seemingly working on a handheld imaging setup and plans to use it across the entire product categories.

Does that mean the gimbal camera would show up with tablets and PCs as well?

Gimbal imaging setups are usually specialized devices mounted on a motorized ring mechanism. They use sensors and brushless motors to counter handshakes and body movements in real time, capturing stable and cinematic shots or videos.

Such a camera system often debuted as a standalone device, focusing only on the photography aspect. But Honor gave a new definition to this product by implementing it on a regular compact smartphone – ROBOT PHONE.

Now the tech giant is reportedly up with another such device. Though this time, whether it is a smartphone, a foldable, a tablet, or a PC is unclear. If not entirely, the company might revamp the camera bump for such a device into a pop-up mechanism.

Honor hasn’t shared its plans on this matter yet. Hence, it is unclear whether the latest piece of information holds any accuracy. Since the news is coming from a credible tipster, let’s wait till the company drops any hints on the new “gimbal camera” device.
