A farmer has been driving in Kerry on a tractor his grandfather drove when he won the World Ploughing Championships in 1964.
Wicklow farmer Michael Keegan has been travelling in the county yesterday and today as part of 700km journey from Mizen to Malin Head to raise funds for suicide prevention.
Mr Keegan is driving his grandfather Charlie’s vintage D4OL tractor – the very one that his grandfather drove when he won the World Ploughing Championship for Ireland over 60 years ago.
He’s joined by classic tractor enthusiast Tony Killarney, who will drive a 1971 Chevy pick-up as a support vehicle along the route.
Michael Keegan is raising funds in aid of suicide prevention charities 3TS & Pieta.
He details his travels across Kerry and explains the motivation behind his journey along the length of Ireland:
