Rihanna has been on somewhat of a Y2K streak lately, and for her latest look, she embraced one of the decade’s favorite colors. Found on bedazzled baby tees and Juicy Couture tracksuits alike, cotton-candy pink offered a lighter, pastel alternative to the bubblegum-pink craze. And, like many a Y2K trend, it’s come back around.

Heading out with A$AP Rocky and their children, Rihanna was seen wearing a cotton-candy Miu Miu jacket: a tracksuit-style piece with ribbed detailing, raglan shoulder seams, and contrasting racing stripes on the sleeves. The sugary-sweet shade’s latest champion popped her collar and zipped the sporty outerwear up partway, tucking her hands into the pockets as she walked.
For even more of an early-2000s statement, the artist paired her jacket with a micro denim miniskirt, with exposed pocket linings and a skintight fit. She added snakeskin heels for a pop of print (again, very Y2K), and finished things off with oversize Louis Vuitton sunglasses, massive hoops, and a thick gold choker.
Rocky, wearing a Yankees cap and plain white tee, carried kids RZA, Riot, and Rocki Mayers to the car.

This wasn’t Rihanna’s first time turning back the clocks this week. Just days ago, the star headed to dinner in a creamsicle set that revived the early-aughts trend of all early-aughts trends: the velour tracksuit. Originated by Juicy Couture and seen on everyone from Britney Spears to Paris Hilton, the comfy status symbol came to define the decade—its low-rise bottoms and zip-up jackets as commonplace as flip phones and boy bands. Rihanna’s, courtesy of Chloé, offered a contemporary take on the classic, with a slouchy top and mid-rise wide-leg velvet pants.
