Jessica Alba is sharing the meaning behind her matching tattoos with her daughter.
On Saturday, Aug. 22, the actress, 45, shared a few photos on Instagram of her getting matching tattoos with her 18-year-old daughter Honor. Alba included a black-and-white photo of their tattoos, which featured an eye above a small infinity symbol, as well as photos of them having the ink drawn on.
Alba also posted a picture of a painting Honor had drawn, which showed similar imagery to their final tattoos. The painting had an eye in the center of a heart. “Forever connected and protected, my baby girl – I love you @honor__warren 💗🧿🫶🏽💫,” Alba wrote in her caption.

Back in July, tattoo artist Winterstone, also known as Daniel Winter, first shared a series of photos on his Instagram account after he tattooed the actress and her daughter Honor. In one picture, Alba and Honor could be seen holding hands as they showed off their matching wrist tattoos.
“Matching tattoos with her daughter! @jessicaalba,” Winterstone captioned the post. “What a way to show love with an unforgettable experience! A memory they will share forever!”
Earlier this month, Alba spoke with PEOPLE about her daughter Honor leaving the nest and heading to college. The mom of three said it was an “intense” milestone that she doesn’t think she can “prepare for.”
“It hasn’t really hit me personally, but I think for any parent, just that milestone, it’s intense,” Alba said. “I don’t think you can prepare for it. You just have to tackle it when it happens.”
Alba shares her three kids — Honor, Haven, 15, and Hayes, 8 — with ex-husband Cash Warren.
In June, Alba shared a sweet tribute as her daughter Honor celebrated her 18th birthday. “Happy 18th Birthday to my Honor 🤍 My sweet girl, my brilliant girl, my shining light ✨,” the Honey actress captioned a heartfelt Instagram Reel filled with photos and videos of them together throughout the years. The post was set to “Blackbird” by The Beatles.
The mom of three also praised her firstborn, who “always lit up every room” she entered, and has grown into a “kind and considerate, yet feisty and witty” young woman.
“Your humor is quick, sharp, and unexpected. You are wildly intelligent, endlessly curious, and I could not be more proud of the young woman you have become,” Alba wrote in her lengthy statement, in part.
“As you step into adulthood, part of me wants to hold you close forever and keep you safe,” Alba wrote. “But an even bigger part wants to watch you fly – to explore this world and discover everything that calls to your soul. And through it all, I will always be here. Whether you need comforting when your sink, a hug, or miss home, I’ll jump on a plane to see you- I’m here. Always.”
Alba concluded, “It has been the greatest gift being your mama – thank you for choosing me, baby girl. Happy 18th Birthday, Honorcita. I love you beyond words ❤️🥹🫶🏽😘.”
