Shona Platt’s first time alone with baby Harper turns into a nightmare on Coronation Street next week, when she accidentally puts her tiny daughter in danger.
In a total panic, Shona realises that she’s left Harper in the car, but her chaotic and confused state of mind is all because the scheming Jodie Ramsey has hidden the car keys.

The devious Jodie has been meddling behind her sister’s back, just so she can swoop in and offer to babysit. And Shona’s not the only Platt that Jodie has in her sights, as she lines up new targets to toy with…
“Shona is in utter distress about Harper,” explains our Weatherfield source. “Jodie has a sneaky way of always being in the right place at the right time, and on this occasion, she pretends to be supportive of Shona, urging her to rest and let her babysit. Red flag alert!”
Shona’s chaotic week alone – as David is visiting Gail – begins with her trying to juggle Lily’s teenage tantrums while baby Harper refuses to soothe. And that’s before Jodie starts causing trouble…
After hearing the court’s decision, Jodie updates the family about her sentence for assaulting Sarah. She has to do a stint of community service, but avoids time behind bars.

Jodie is put on litter-picking duty, which suits her eavesdropping habit perfectly as she listens in on Bethany arranging a date. But when the two women bicker, Jodie decides to get her own back and invites Kit Green on a date.
“Bethany is hurt that Kit would date Jodie so soon,” explains our spy. “She completely loses her cool with Jodie and warns Kit that he should stay well clear. But when Jodie turns on the charm and offers him a nightcap, can he resist?”
Meanwhile, as Shona judges her sister for stealing Sarah’s ex, the overworked mum starts worrying about a rash she finds on Harper. Despite the rash turning out to be caused by teething, Shona’s still on edge…
The next day, Jodie plays with Shona’s emotions by hiding her car keys to give her the day from hell. As Shona calls David to moan about her day, she suddenly realises that she’s left Harper in the car.

Terrified, she races outside only to find Daniel Osbourne cradling a crying Harper in his arms. She grabs onto her daughter, sobbing with relief, as Jodie reminds her that mistakes like this happen because she’s tired.
“Jodie is the ultimate puppet master,” points out our insider. “She babysits Harper and invites Kit over to keep her company. But before long Shona gives him a warning that bunking up with Jodie might be a terrible mistake.”
Will Kit heed Shona’s warning and give Jodie the elbow? Or will he live to regret a night with the local bunny boiler?
