Madame Tussauds Orlando will add an interactive scavenger hunt to its lineup in October. Its Great Wax Heist will incorporate QR codes and a history lesson that delves into the background of Marie Tussaud and her famed wax figures.
The activity’s plot involved priceless figure-making tools that have vanished. Visitors will use smartphones to scan codes inside the Icon Park attraction for clues that will help track down five missing artifacts and the story behind the techniques used by Tussaud. A figure of the French artist, who founded a wax museum in London in 1835, stands year-round in the Orlando attraction, which is owned by Merlin Entertainments Group.
“The Great Wax Heist gives guests a fun new way to experience Madame Tussauds Orlando,” general manager Paul Gould said in a news release. “As they work together to solve the mystery, they’ll also discover the remarkable craftsmanship and centuries-old techniques behind our iconic wax figures.”
The Heist, included with regular admission, will be available Oct. 1-30.
Among the more recent additions inside the Orlando attraction, located on International Drive, are figures of Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift, Lionel Messi, Simu Liu and Jeff Goldblum.
