Air fryers are handy kitchen gadgets, but figuring out the best way to clean them isn’t always straightforward. They may use less oil, but they still pick up plenty of grease and splatters.
Regular cleaning is essential to keep them cooking your favourite dishes efficiently. However, if you’re after an easy way to clean your air fryer, one woman has shared her budget-friendly approach
On the Mrs Hinch Army Cleaning Tips Facebook group, Adrianna Griffin revealed that dishwasher tablets are the key to tackling stubborn stains on air fryers.
These powerful cleaning products are a must-have for anyone seeking quick and hassle-free cleaning solution.
Not only do they make washing up a breeze, but they’re also great for freshening up other areas of the home and various appliances, air fryers included, reports the Express.

Adrianna posted a photo of her spotless air fryer basket, writing: “Whoever said using a dishwasher tablet for the air fryer is a lifesaver.
“The pieces of food stuck to the tray were impossible to remove with just scrubbing.”
She added: “Just a five-minute soak with boiling hot water, a rinse and wipe and the job was done. The grease had just melted away.
“I don’t even have a dishwasher, but picked these up very cheap and thought they could be used for some cleaning hacks I’ve seen on this page.”
The blend of enzymes, alkalis and surfactants found in these tablets is excellent for tackling grease stains, food marks and even unpleasant smells.
These ingredients are not only brilliant for washing dishes but can also be used to combat grease, food residue and odours in other areas.
Carolina McCauley, who posts home hacks on TikTok, also recommended the dishwasher tablet method. She said it is the “easiest air fryer cleaning hack”.
Her followers agreed as one said: “So smart.” Another added: “It looks so easy.”
Make sure you never place the dishwasher tablet and water directly inside the main appliance of the air fryer, or submerge the electrical base.
