Nine people test positive for brucellosis, hepatitis and syphilis after donating blood in Naryn region in half a year
AKIPRESS.COM – 702 donors have donated blood to the Naryn regional blood center since the beginning of the year. The center also has blood collection and component separation units at the family medicine centers in Ak-Tala, At-Bashy, Kochkor, and Jumgal districts.
A total of 702 donors gave blood in Naryn region in six months.
33,358.1 liters of blood were collected. This produced 186.28 liters of red blood cell mass and 168.73 liters of fresh frozen plasma. 381 people were unpaid donors.
Patients in the region received 53.245 liters of red blood cell mass and 60.845 liters of fresh frozen plasma through transfusions.
Lab testing of the donated blood detected 4 cases of brucellosis, 3 cases of viral hepatitis B (HBV), 1 case of viral hepatitis C (HCV), and 1 case of syphilis.
