Ahead of Big Brother’s return later this year, the show has enlisted iconic previous winner Kate Lawler for a new hosting role. The star famously won the third series of the reality programme back in 2002, becoming the first female winner.
It has now been announced that she will front new companion show Big Brother: The Group Chat alongside GK Barry, which will broadcast after the main show on ITV2, ITVX and YouTube from Sunday to Thursday nights.
The spin-off is set to bring fans “closer to the personalities, dynamics and relationships at the heart of the series”, with “exclusive interviews with evicted Housemates, celebrity fans and special guests”.

ITV also teased “strong opinions, plenty of personality and the inside scoop from those who know the house best” as the two hosts “dissect the drama, celebrate the stand-out scenes and weigh in on the decisions and surprises shaping the game”.
“Big Brother has been a huge part of my life since I first stepped through those doors 24 years ago, so to now be returning in this role alongside the fantastic GK Barry feels like an exciting full-circle moment,” Kate said.
“I can’t wait to get stuck into all the conversations, twists and talking points with the fans, while bringing a little of my own first-hand experience to the mix.”

Kate appeared on the third season alongside several notable fellow stars, including Alison Hammond, Jade Goody and Adele Roberts. She has since worked as a TV presenter and radio host on This Morning, Capital FM, Virgin Radio and more.
The new series of Big Brother – the fourth of the relaunched era on ITV2 – is yet to announce a premiere date. However, the show has been confirmed to last eight weeks, with a first look at the new eye recently dropping.
Big Brother will return to ITV2 and ITVX this autumn.
