A dramatic first look at the new season of The Celebrity Traitors has dropped, showing the full cast together. The hit BBC series is due to return later this year, with a host of new celebs playing the ultimate game of deception for the second season.
In a first teaser, host Claudia Winkleman gathers the group in the chapel, declaring: “A moment of silence for the celebrities gathered today… thoughts and prayers.”
We then get shots of the nervous cast sitting in the pews, as Claudia says while walking out: “Who doesn’t love a dramatic exit.”

Set to take part in the new season are the likes of Bella Ramsey, James Acaster, Amol Rajan, James Blunt, Jerry Hall, Joanne McNally, Joe Lycett, Julie Hesmondhalgh, King Kenny and Leigh-Anne Pinnock.
Also seen in the teaser are Maya Jama, Michael Sheen, Miranda Hart, Myha’la, Professor Hannah Fry, Richard E Grant, Rob Beckett, Romesh Ranganathan, Ross Kemp, Sebastian Croft and Sharon Rooney.
We’re certainly expecting some gripping TV when the show returns this autumn, especially after the excellent first season that was capped off by Alan Carr’s scene-stealing win.
While we’re yet to see how the new celebs do in the game, The Last of Us star Ramsey recently admitted they were “naive” going into the show.

“I started playing it [Mafia] in the Television Workshop, so I’ve been playing it since I was 11,” the actor told The Guardian. “I love it so much. I’ve done Mafia nights at my flat. So fun. In my head, it was just, like, ‘I’m going to go to this castle and play this game for two weeks.’
“Yeah. So I’m, like, ‘you just go and you do that [The Celebrity Traitors]’. But I’m too naive. I should know, after doing this for so many years, that what you see on screen isn’t actually what it is.”
The Celebrity Traitors returns later this year on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. Season 1 is streaming now on BBC iPlayer.
