Apple’s iOS 27 is coming soon, with a bunch of new iPhone features launching in September at its annual event. But with iOS 27’s arrival comes another question: Will my iPhone run iOS 27?
Many iPhone users will be surprised to find out that yes, their device will run iOS 27. Yet while the upgrade may be suitable for their device, some of the Siri AI features may not be available.

The Catch — Which Devices Support All iOS 27 features?
As mentioned, not all iPhone will be able to run Apple’s powerful new Siri AI features. In fact, only three iPhones have enough memory to handle the new iOS — the iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and iPhone Air.
The iPhone 18 will also support these features when it launches, of course.
How Long Will Apple Update iOS 26?
Apple has updated iOS 18, iOS 26’s predecessor, on and off for nearly a year. This is longer than previously and could be driven by the number of security flaws being discovered by AI.
Malware such as spyware often targets older devices, so Apple ensures important security fixes always reach them.
With this in mind, it’s possible that Apple will update iOS 26 with critical security upgrades for a year. Typically, the longer list of upgrades stops after around four to six months, but this may change with iOS 26 updates.
iOS 27 — Is It Time To Buy A New iPhone?
With iOS 27 about to arrive, the question is a big one: Should you buy a new iPhone?
If your iPhone is on the latest obsolete list, then yes. If money is an issue, you could wait until after the iPhone 18 comes out and purchase an older model for a reasonable price.
However, if you want to be able to run all the iOS 27 features and for your iPhone to have longevity, you could consider an iPhone 18.
