Liverpool have reached an agreement in principle with Paris Saint-Germain for Bradley Barcola. The deal, worth up to £123 million, will make the Frenchman the club’s second most expensive signing ever, behind only Alexander Isak.
Barcola is set to sign a contract running to 2031. His medical is expected to take place this weekend, with paperwork between the two clubs still being finalised.
The move fills the wide-attacking gap left by Mohamed Salah, who joined Trabzonspor on a free transfer earlier this month. Liverpool have made strengthening their wings a priority all summer.
Barcola’s arrival is also expected to have knock-on effects at Anfield. Cody Gakpo’s future is reportedly under threat, with Manchester City among the most likely to sign the Dutch forward.
The Reds are not finished there. Liverpool are pushing to sign a second winger before the transfer window closes, with Crystal Palace’s Ismaila Sarr the leading target after difficult negotiations with Brighton over Yankuba Minteh.
That search for reinforcements now stretches beyond the Premier League’s usual hunting grounds.
According to Foot Mercato, Liverpool have entered advanced talks with AS Saint-Etienne over a move for Djylian N’Guessan, though the final details of any deal are still to be sorted out.
N’Guessan, who turned 18 on August 30, is a forward who came through Saint-Etienne’s academy.
He signed his first professional contract with the Ligue 2 club in November 2024 and made his debut in January 2025, coming off the bench against Stade de Reims before starting against Nantes the same month.
His progress since has been disrupted. A muscle injury kept him out for much of the second half of 2025, and he has featured sparingly in Ligue 2 this season.
He has also been left out of Ian Cathro’s matchday squads this term, alongside teammate Aïmen Moueffek, as Saint-Étienne look to resolve his future before the market shuts.
N’Guessan’s contract situation adds urgency to the situation. He runs until June 2027, and his camp have rejected the club’s attempts to extend it.
Saint-Etienne rejected a bid of €7-8 million from Paris FC last season and had been holding out for a fee in the region of €12-15 million.
