Ohio ID cards can now be saved to Google wallets
COLUMBUS, Ohio —
The Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles has introduced a new feature that allows residents to store their driver licenses and state IDs in Google Wallet.
Gov. Mike DeWine announced the update on X, saying, “This is the latest in a long line of new features that save time and make it more convenient for Ohioans.”
When an ID is displayed in Google Wallet, users can review exactly what data is shared, and the information is encrypted and protected by personal authentication.
If a device is lost or stolen, digital IDs can be deleted to maintain security.
