Car once owned by Elvis Presley gets a new home in North Dakota

  • September 2, 2026

MINOT, N.D. (KMOT) – There’s a piece of iconic music history in Minot, and fans have the opportunity to take pictures with a one-of-a-kind vehicle.

George Masters knows his classic cars. But this one is one of a kind.

Masters is the president of the Dakota Cruisers Car Club and was hired to detail a special vehicle.

“He said, ‘I got another car too; it’s a Continental Mark V.’ He said it used to belong to Elvis Presley, and said that’s cool, yeah right,” said Masters.

The car’s owner, Shane Feland, found the car at an auction in the Carolinas, with paperwork and all, proving it used to belong to the music legend.

“He had all the documentation and everything, to show that this was the last car that Elvis Presley bought,” said Masters.

Masters said that Elvis bought the car in April of 1977, one week before he went on what would have been his final tour.

“He had it for a week, and then he gave it to his jeweler, Lowell Hays,” said Masters.

When Masters gets to take this car around the Magic City, he gets to show people the life of the King of Rock, Elvis Presley. It comes with all the bells and whistles, including his TCB logo and a tape deck.

With Feland’s permission, Masters takes the car to assisted living homes, for everyone, including Elvis’ fans, to take pictures with the iconic set of wheels.

Feland gifted a necklace from his trip to Graceland to an area lady who’s a huge Elvis fan and involved in the car club.

“He’s certainly a gentleman that’s willing to share the ownership and the pride, because I don’t know, you can’t say everybody, but everybody’s an Elvis fan,” said Masters.

Masters said that Shane appreciates getting to share the car with others.

Even though Elvis is no longer with us, a little bit of him lives on in the Peace Garden State.

If you want to see the car, you have a chance this weekend. It will be on display at Motor Magic at the North Dakota State Fairgrounds.
