Our trader has three picks for Toon taking on the Cherries in Saturday’s early KO.
Saturday’s lunchtime Premier League showdown sees Newcastle, fresh from their 2-0 dismissal over Spurs, hosting a Bournemouth side who have picked up just a point so far this season.
Our trader Kyle Byrne is on hand to deliver his Newcastle v Bournemouth lunchtime Bet Builder – why not use your FREE Bet Builder this week on it? Two of Kyle’s picks are covered by Paddy’s Super Sub offer, too, so if a player is hooked off, the pick transfers to his replacement. Let’s get into it.

We love an early Saturday kickoff. Both sides entered the season with new managers and varied levels of optimism after the first two games. The Magpies will have felt aggrieved to concede a late penalty equalizer against Liverpool but did well to comfortably beat a floundering Spurs team still trying to find their feet.
Bournemouth will be thoroughly kicking themselves after holding on to a one-nil lead heroically against Man City in their opener, only to concede two late goals, followed by conceding a late equalizer to Everton last week to deny the Cherries their first win under Marco Rose.
Harvey Barnes to be fouled 2+ times
Harvey Barnes has drawn four fouls across his first two league games to start the season, along with another two in the half of football he played against West Brom in Newcastle’s Carabao Cup game.
Barnes is likely to start on the left-hand side of Newcastle’s attack. He’s very direct in his dribbling and will be looking to cut inside and create scoring opportunities against the likes of Alex Scott and Adam Smith, who both picked up yellow cards for bad fouls early in the game last week. If you wanted to spruce up your odds a bit, add Wissa and/or Elanga to be fouled also.
Anthony Elanga to have 2+ shots on target (incl woodwork)
Anthony Elanga has started the season in blistering form, scoring a goal against both Spurs and Liverpool. In those two games, the speed merchant had three shots on target and looks at home in this new-look Newcastle setup. I do not expect him to let up here.
Bournemouth to receive the most cards
Rob Jones will referee this, and he dishes out cards above the Premier League average rate of 3.75, at 4.22 per game. Bournemouth averaged 2.32 yellow cards in the league last season, which rose to 2.47 when accounting for away games, which is considerably higher than the 1.76 Newcastle averaged last season.
