The official White House account on X posted an AI-generated video of President Donald Trump as a Green Lantern on Sunday night, right as Lanterns Episode 4 rolled out on HBO.
The caption is the Green Lantern Corps oath, the “In brightest day, in blackest night” verse recited by ring bearers across DC comics, movies, and TV.
The video puts a glowing green power ring on Trump’s hand and runs through a series of ring constructs.
One shows a wall of green energy stretching across a desert at night, with a crowd of people stopped on the far side.

Another has Trump looking out over a glowing factory skyline under a giant “American Manufacturing” sign. A third surrounds him with green warships, fighter jets, and helicopters.
The post pulled in 47,000 likes and 8,800 replies in its first five hours.

Lanterns airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on HBO, and the White House video went up in that same window Sunday night.
The caption never names Lanterns, DC Studios, or Warner Bros. Discovery.
Neither DC nor the show’s official accounts have acknowledged the video.

The White House Did This With Superman
This is the second time the account has put Trump in a DC role.
In July 2025, timed to the release of James Gunn’s Superman, the White House posted a Trump Superman image captioned “THE SYMBOL OF HOPE. TRUTH. JUSTICE. THE AMERICAN WAY.”
Gunn’s movie skipped the classic “American way” slogan. The White House used it anyway.
The account has kept up the franchise imagery since, including an AI image of Trump holding a lightsaber for Star Wars Day.
Lanterns continues Sundays on HBO and HBO Max, with the season finale set for October 4.
