Gardaí are investigating a number of hit-and-run incidents that occurred in east Donegal last Friday involving a black Seat Leon with a partial registration of ‘YLZ’.
In the first incident, an innocent driver was waiting at a set of temporary traffic lights on the N15 near Castlefin at approximately 7.22pm. The light turned green and they proceeded onwards only to be met head on by the Seat Leon in question which was travelling in the opposite direction (Killygordon to Castlefin). A collision occurred
between the two cars and the Seat Leon left the scene immediately. No injuries were reported.
On the same date at around 7.34pm, a driver reported that the Seat Leon in question had overtaken their car in a dangerous manner in Liscooley and had collided with the front driver’s side of their car while doing so. The direction of travel for both cars was Killygordon to Liscooley. The Seat Leon left the scene of the collision immediately and turned off in Liscooley to travel in the direction of Carnowen. Again, no injuries were reported.
Gardaí later received a report in relation to the dangerous manner in which this car was being driven in the area of the Derry Road, Raphoe, on that same date at approximately 9.35pm.
“We appeal to anybody who may have witnessed any of these incidents to get in touch with Gardaí in Ballyshannon on 0719858530,” a garda spokesperson said.

Likewise, if anyone travelled between Killygordon and Liscooley or in the Carnowen area with a dash-cam between 7pm and 8pm on Friday, September 4, they are urged to make the footage available to any garda station.
