Jeremy Scott will be honored by Palm Springs Art Museum at its annual Art Party gala on Jan. 30.
The fashion designer and creative director will be recognized for his contributions to fashion and contemporary culture, as well as his ties to Palm Springs. Proceeds from the event support the museum’s exhibitions, programs, collections and community initiatives.
Scott, who was born in Kansas City, Mo., studied fashion design at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn before beginning his career in Paris and launching his namesake label. He later served as creative director of Moschino, and his career has included collaborations across fashion, art, music and product design, including a long-standing partnership with Adidas.

Scott also has a connection to Palm Springs through the Elrod House, the John Lautner-designed residence completed in 1968, of which he is the steward. The house is considered an important example of desert modernism.
“Jeremy has an extraordinary ability to see the familiar differently and turn it into something entirely unexpected,” said Christine Vendredi, JoAnn McGrath executive director and chief curator of Palm Springs Art Museum, in a statement. “There is intelligence, wit and fearlessness in everything he creates.”
Vendredi added that Scott’s relationship with Palm Springs makes the recognition particularly significant, describing him as “not only internationally renowned, but also part of the cultural fabric of this community.”
“Palm Springs has long been a source of inspiration for me — a place where art, architecture, glamour and fantasy coexist so beautifully,” Scott said in a statement. “To be this year’s honoree is incredibly meaningful and I’m truly grateful.”
