Ariana Grande’s “Hate That I Made You Love Me” and Shakira and Burna Boy’s “Dai Dai” dominate as Billboard’s No. 1 global songs for summer 2026. The songs rule recaps covering Memorial Day through Labor Day for the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts, respectively.
The retrospectives reflect performance on the weekly Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. from charts dated June 6 through Sept. 12. The recaps rank songs based on streaming and sales activity culled from more than 200 territories around the world, as compiled by Luminate. The Global 200 is inclusive of worldwide data and Global Excl. U.S. comprises data from territories excluding the United States. Titles among the top 10 2025 global summer hits were ineligible to appear on this year’s season-ending tallies.
(Notably, countries in the Southern Hemisphere were not in summer the past three months. Still, the lists below might help music fans in those territories channel sultry summer vibes.)
“Hate That I Made You Love Me” launched at No. 1 on the Global 200 dated June 13 and has led for three total weeks, while placing in the top five continuously since its debut. The song is the lead single from Grande’s studio album petal, which, in August, opened as her seventh No. 1 on the U.S.-based Billboard 200.
“Dai Dai (FIFA World Cup Official Song 2026)” ran up 10 consecutive weeks atop Global Excl. U.S. (July 4-Sept. 5). The song, which became the first official World Cup anthem to lead the chart, benefited from World Cup performances that bookended celebrations of the latest edition of soccer’s signature competition. Shakira and Burna Boy sang it for a reported 80,000-plus fans at the opening ceremony June 11 at Mexico City’s Estadio Azteca. During the final match on July 19, Shakira, Justin Bieber, BTS and Madonna headlined the first-ever World Cup final halftime show, also featuring Burna Boy, among others, at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., an 11-minute showcase that included “Dai Dai.”

As previously reported, Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” is the season-ending No. 1 on Billboard’s Songs of the Summer chart for 2026, based on performance between Memorial Day and Labor Day on the weekly, U.S.-based Billboard Hot 100.
