An anticipated Batman movie sequel has locked in its trailer release date. It’s part of an animated trilogy based on a DC comic book storyline.
The trailer for the highly anticipated Batman: Knightfall Part 2 will launch on Batman Day, on September 19, 2026. Fans can also pre-order the movie that day.
Additionally, the first animated installment, Batman: Knightfall Part 1, will be available at a special promotional price through digital retailers. The film was released last month on digital platforms and is now available to purchase in 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD.
Batman: Knightfall Part 1 impressed comic book fans and currently holds a spectacular Popcornmeter score of 94% on Rotten Tomatoes.
What else do we know about Batman: Knightfall Part 2?
Batman: Knightfall Part 2 will continue the story from the first entry. Its ending had Bane brutally defeating Bruce Wayne/Batman, breaking his back and declaring himself a dominant force in Gotham City.
The sequel will see Bruce Wayne recovering from his injuries while being out of action. During this time, a violent character, Jean-Paul Valley/Azrael, will take on Batman’s mantle before the real Caped Crusader returns.
Much like the comic book storyline, which was divided into Knightfall, Knightquest, and KnightsEnd, the movie trilogy is also set to span three entries.
The ongoing trilogy also offers a captivating experience thanks to its R-rating, borrowing the same brutal intensity from the comic books. Batman: Knightfall Part 2 has Jeff Wamester as the director while Jeremy Adams has served as the writer.
Jim Krieg and Kimberly S. Moreau are the film’s producers, while Michael Uslan and Sam Register are serving as the executive producers. The movie has yet to receive an official release date in 2026. As for the third and last installment, it’s set to arrive sometime in 2027.
