The Lemon Tree in Letterkenny yesterday welcomed UK presenter Dermot O’Leary to their award-winning restaurant to show him a taste of Donegal.
Dermot is in Donegal filming the second series of his popular food and travel programme, Dermot’s Taste of Ireland for ITV.
He’s off to a good start in Donegal, stopping by the Lemon Tree, which has featured in the Michelin Guide for many years.
The Lemon Tree is synonymous with local food and the flavours of Donegal’s Wild Atlantic Way, exemplified by their proud ‘Producer Map’ on the wall which pinpoints their many local suppliers.
O’Leary’s new series will focus on the culinary scene of the north and west coasts of Ireland, with the presenter meeting local producers, chefs, and restaurateurs.
Sharing a photo on Facebook after his visit, Chris and Gary Molloy said: “It was fantastic to welcome Dermot O’Leary and his camera crew to the Lemon Tree today.
“A fun day was had and something to look forward to in early 2026.”
The first season of Dermot’s Taste of Ireland on ITV earned over 3.3 million viewers tuning in from across the country.
For part two, O’Leary will kick off his tour of the island’s food scene starting at the Causeway Coastal Route, visiting Derry and continuing on to Donegal and Sligo along the famous Wild Atlantic Way.
Viewers will also see the This Morning presenter enjoy some of the best outdoor experiences, including boat tours around the coast and try his hand at surfing.
The 10 part series will be produced by Rock Oyster Media, and supported by the Shared Island Tourism Brand Collaboration Project. It is set to be seen by millions of viewers when it airs on ITV1 and ITVX next spring.
