On Friday, Oct. 3, Gallery 202 will hold its fall art show and reception.
Open to the public, guests are invited to spend an elegant evening sifting through the gallery with the option to purchase pottery, jewelry, paintings and more. The event will also feature meet-and-greet opportunities with local artists.
Gallery 202 is a diverse art gallery in downtown Franklin, which holds two events a year – one in spring and one in autumn – to celebrate art and creatives.
“It seems to be really great because they’re separated just enough,” said Gallery 202 owner Kelly Harwood of his two annual events.
The Oct. 3 event will celebrate 20 artists – mostly all local – as well as Harwood’s work, which guests can explore in his studio. Harwood will have his artwork displayed in the intimate Carriage House in the courtyard garden, where he said his “tremendous amount of new art” is available for viewing.
Guests will also enjoy live music provided by Jake Mosca, a New Jersey based singer songwriter, in the courtyard.
“We have a really good variety of art. We go from animal art to landscapes to abstract florals, portraits,” said Harwood. “We have a good array of everything.”
The purpose of the fall art show and reception, he said, is to “bring awareness to local art,” to showcase local artists and give them a platform to show off new works.
“We’ve been open 17 years and so some of the artists have been here since we’ve opened, and then we also have new artists,” he said.
