Yves Jarvis has won this year’s Polaris Music Prize.

The award is essentially the Canadian equivalent of the Mercury Music Prize – it honours musical excellence from the past 12 months, rooted in the album format.

Returning for 2025, an independent 11-member grand jury sifted through the very best in Canadian music, to locate one overall winner.

Yves Jarvis took home the award, wining the 2025 Polaris Music Prize for album ‘All Cylinders’. A beautiful record, the highly personal statement found Yves burrowing inwards.

Each shortlisted artist performed on the night, with Yves Jarvis playing ‘One Gripe’.
