SuperValu in Monksland, on the outskirts of Athlone, where a garda sustained a number of injuries in a violent incident yesterday afternoon.
A garda sustained a “number of injuries” during the course of his attempts to arrest a man following a row which had broken out at a supermarket in Athlone yesterday afternoon.
The incident unfolded at SuperValu in the midlands town’s Monksland area at around 4:30pm.
