DART passengers can expect some disruption to services in October.

Due to planned engineering works between Dún Laoghaire and Wicklow on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 October 2026, there will be no DART services running between Dún Laoghaire and Greystones. DART trains will operate only on routes between Malahide, Howth, and Dún Laoghaire.

During this weekend, several stations will remain closed. These include Sandycove and Glasthule, Glenageary, Dalkey, Killiney, Shankill, Woodbrook, Bray, Greystones, and Kilcoole. Passengers using Iarnród Éireann Leap cards can use them across all alternative TFI public transport services within the affected area.

Further disruptions will take place over the October Bank Holiday weekend from Saturday 24 to Monday 26 October 2026. This is due to engineering works between Grand Canal Dock and Bray, as well as between Howth Junction & Donaghmede and Howth.

As a result, no train services will operate on these sections, and DART trains will run strictly between Malahide and Grand Canal Dock.

The affected closed stations will include Bayside, Sutton, Howth, Lansdowne Road, Sandymount, Sydney Parade, Booterstown, Blackrock, Seapoint, Salthill and Monkstown, Dún Laoghaire, Sandycove and Glasthule, Glenageary, Dalkey, Killiney, Shankill, and Woodbrook.

As with previous disruptions, Leap cards used for rail travel will be valid on all local TFI public transport options.

DART and Dublin commuter rail schedules have also adjusted for autumn leaf fall impact.

Iarnród Éireann is advising customers that a revised autumn timetable will take effect from Monday 21 September until 12 December in the greater Dublin area. Seasonal leaf fall creates low rail adhesion, as trains squash the leaves into a slippery pulp on the tracks.

Morning and evening peak time services will see journey times extended by one to three minutes on DART and commuter rail. Customers are particularly asked to note earlier departure times on morning services.
