Brentford’s first game of the new Premier League season also marked Keith Andrews’ maiden outing as a first-team manager, but it’s safe to say it didn’t go as well as the Dubliner had hoped.

Having been promoted from the club’s set-piece coach to the hot seat on a three-year deal in June, it’s some achievement for one’s first managerial post to be in the biggest league in the world. But it proved to be a baptism of fire after a nightmare first-half showing from his side in the 3-1 defeat.
