The Man of Steel gets new and exciting updates for his certain attributes in the inaugural issue of Superman: The Kryptonite Spectrum. Superman, created by writer Jerry Siegel and artist Joe Shuster, debuted in the first issue of Action Comics in April 1938.

He has since come to be regarded as one of the most iconic characters of comics and the superhero genre. Over the years, Superman has undergone several changes to his costumes, powers, lore, and mythos, which have added to the rich history of the character.

What is Superman’s new superpower in DC’s The Kryptonite Spectrum #1?

Superman: The Kryptonite Spectrum #1 follows the eponymous character as he finds Kryptonites of four new colors. Each of these types of Krptonite has a different effect on the Man of Steel, granting him new powers and uniquely impacting his Kryptonian physiology (via Screen Rant).

In the very first issue of the new comic book series from the team of W. Maxwell Prince, Martín Morazzo, Chris O’Halloran, and Good Old Neon, Superman discovers that the purple Kryptonite affects his traditional linear perspective of time. It is also hinted that he might gain access to the fifth dimension due to the exposure to radiation from this variety of Kryptonite.

The issue also reveals the property of cobalt Kryptonite toward the end. Superman, having teamed up with Batman, tries to find out what the cobalt Kryptonite can do and turns into a giant-sized version of himself because of its radiation. According to DC, the next issue of the comic will feature a Godzilla-sized Kal-El.

Wonder Woman, John Stewart, and Atom Smasher are slated to appear in this issue, which will also introduce Linda, Queen of Spreadsheets and Pivot Tables.

In Superman comics and associated media, Kryptonite is one of Superman’s most significant weaknesses. When exposed, he and other Kryptonians lose their powers and experience extreme pain, among other things. Since then, various colors of Kryptonite have been introduced, with only the green variant having the above-mentioned effects.

The Kryptonite Spectrum will be a five-issue comic book series.
