St. Faithleachs produced a strong third quarter to edge of Michael Glaveys and book a place in the Roscommon semi-final.

Glavey’s led 10-points to 1-6 at half-time. A Dylan Ruane two-pointer, a Daniel Hagney 45 and Darragh Heneghan from play had Glavey’s four points to no score ahead on seven minutes. Ciaran Murtagh opened Faithleachs account on nine minutes. 10 minutes Faithleachs goal.

Rob Heneghan replied with Glaveys fifth point of the game. The Murtagh’s brothers combined with Ciaran from play and a Diarmuid free moving Faithleachs ahead for the first time. Indeed, Diarmuid landed a point from play to move Faithleachs two clear.

A Daniel Hagney two-pointer had the game level on 18 minutes. Whereas, Ruane fired over his second two-pointer of the day moments later to move Faithleachs ahead.

Jack Murray pulled one back for Faithleachs with Neill Morris moving Glaveys to 10 points three minutes before half-time. Brian Murtagh rounded out the half-time scoring as Glaveys led 10 points to 1-6.

Faithleachs comeback

Niall Heneghan opened the second-half scoring before a Rob Heneghan penalty put Glaveys 1-11 to 1-6 ahead. Whereas, David Rooney two-point landing St. Faithleachs.

A Connelly two-pointer made it a one point. A Diarmuid Murtagh two-pointer moved Faithleachs clear. A Robert Heneghan free, brought Glaveys back level. Robert Heneghan restored Glaveys lead.

The sides exchanged scores through Michael Dunne and Cathal Heneghan free. A Diarmuid Murtagh two-pointer restored Faithleachs lead with 10 minutes remaining.

Another Diarmuid two-pointer increased the lead to three. Ciaran added a two-pointer to make it a five point game.

Diarmuid Murtagh added a point to make it a six point game with five minutes remaining.

Glaveys battled back through points from Daniel Hagney, Conor Hussey and two points including a free from Conor Heneghan brought it back to a two point game.

However, Glaveys couldn’t pull the game back as Faithleachs won out 1-20 to 1-18. St. Faithleachs will now play Padraig Pearses in the Roscommon semi-final.
