Internet service has been restored in Kandahar but is limited to banking and public offices, local sources told Amu on Monday.

Kandahar was among the first provinces where the Taliban blocked fiber-optic internet last week.

Sources said the current service is not provided through fiber lines but via a “point-to-point” system.

Taliban have cut fiber internet access in at least 16 provinces in recent weeks.

They have not issued an official statement on the restrictions.
