There was a moment in the first half of Brentford’s 3-1 defeat at Nottingham Forest where, for Keith Andrews, it felt like the enormity of the task on his hands really hit home.

There he stood on the touchline – at this point still just one goal down with the worst yet to come – motionless, as his assistant Martin Drury rushed around him barking instructions.
