Hotel Costiera, the “charming” Italy-set crime drama led by Grey’s Anatomy star Jesse Williams, is trending in the UK following its premiere on Prime Video – how successful has it proved to be?
The six-part series sees Williams portray Daniel “DD” De Luca, a former Marine who returns to Italy to work at a hotel on the Amalfi Coast. Wanting a quiet life, he is thrust into danger as his boss’ daughter is abducted.
Created by Elena Bucaccio and Francesco Arlanch, Hotel Costiera was released on Prime Video on Wednesday (24 September), and it looks to have been a success in terms of viewership.

In addition to strong viewership figures, its reception amongst viewers has been generally positive, with the average user rating on IMDb currently being a solid 6.5 out of 10 from 308 reviews.

“This is a charming, funny, light-hearted show with gorgeous Italy scenery and the language benefit if you happen to be multilingual – at least English and Italian. I find it promising for relaxing entertainment,” wrote one user.
