A man has appeared in court charged with an assault in Lifford.

Seamus Cooley appeared by videolink at Letterkenny District Court.

He is charged that on May 27th, 2023 at Murlog, Lifford he assaulted Niall Rooney.

The charge is Contrary to Section 2 of the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act, 1997.

Cooley, with an address at Saint Jude’s Court in Lifford did not have a legal representative in court.

The 50-year-old was asked by Judge Ciaran Liddy if he had a solicitor and the accused replied he was represented by Madden Finucane.

Judge Liddy recommended to Cooley that he contact his solicitor and inform him of the matter.

The case was adjourned until October 20th next for disclosure.
