West coast rap legend Ice Cube’s tour bus got damaged from a fire that was going on downtown Portland after he offered basketball star Caitlin Clark $5 million “Billie Jean King” Big3 offer, which she turned down for the WNBA.

A public relations firm that promotes the rap music creator turned movie mogul confirmed that his tour bus began blazing in the Oregon city on Tuesday morning. According to Portland Fire & Rescue spokesperson Rick Graves, Portland firefighters responded to flames happening on the front passenger tire of a charter bus on the morning of September 23 at Southwest Broadway and Oak Street, per Oregon Live.

Rick explained to the news outlet that the fire was being investigated as it wasn’t known who the bus belonged to. It was later confirmed by Tresa Sanders, the founder and CEO of the public relations firm Tre Media, that the vehicle was the 56-year-old Bow Down rhymer’s tour bus. Before this scary incident, Ice Cube was trapped in Australia earlier this year because of “extremely rare” storm.

A rep for Ice Cube told Oregon Live, “I’m not taking this incident as a personal attack. A coward like that would burn anybody’s property that was out there at the time.”

Since the incident, much speculation has arose on social media about why Ice Cube’s bus was caught on fire. The most prevalent conspiracy theory is that his tour bus was “firebombed” because the word “ICE,” the first half of his stage name, was written the bus.

X (fka Twitters) users are claiming someone who confused the “Ice” in Ice Cube with the Immigrations and Customs Enforcement Agency, aka ICE, assumed the bus was an ICE vehicle, so they set it on fire in retaliation.

“Portland terrorists firebombed Ice Cube’s bus, confusing it with ICE,” one shared on X, as another agreed, “Straight out of Compton [a reference to Ice Cube’s former rap group NWA’s hit song of the same name] and into the pits of Portland. Rapper Ice Cube had his bus firebombed. People in Portland are so stupid they probably thought it was ICE…”

It seems many netizens are beginning to believe this unverified narrative since many across America are outraged with the ongoing ICE raids that have been enacted under President Donald Trump administration. There is no reports confirming or denying that Ice Cube’s tour bus was set on fire on purpose.
