Scottie Scheffler is enduring another rough outing in Team USA colours, but he showed his class during and after his fourballs loss to Justin Rose and Tommy Fleetwood.

Scheffler has, so far, lost all of his matches at the 2025 Ryder Cup, and looked out of sorts from the player that captured two majors, this year.

The 29-year-old was a side character on the 15th green, and the walk towards the 16th tee-box, when Bryson DeChambeau and Ted Scott, Scheffler’s caddy, took exception comments from Rose. The Team Europe veteran brusqely told Gregory Bodine, caddy to DeChambeau, to clear off the 15th green before draining a birdie putt.

When DeChambeau followed that birdie in with one of his own, the two-time major winner got chirpy with the Europeans. When Francesco Molinari tried to step in to diffuse the situation, he was pushed by Scott, as Fleetwood attempted to calm a heated situation.

Following their 3&2 victory over Scottoe Scheffler and Bryson DeChambeau, Sky Sports caught up with the English duo for a word.

Rose offered his side of events, and was eager to stress how Scheffler was not involved in the 15th green incident, and had been a gentleman throughout their fourballs match.

Scottie Scheffler moment with Rose and Fleetwood caught on camera

“Yeah, it was a shame that the match got to that point because it was actually a really great match,” Juston Rose observed, after handing Bryson DeChambeau and Scottie Scheffler another tough Ryder Cup loss.

I was waiting to putt, the (USA) boys were obviously working on their read, obviously going through a lot of their sort of whatever, calculations and bits and pieces, so I sort of waited a few seconds and then I felt like they came up again and I was sort of, I questioned whether… I was like, ‘It’s my putt, right’, or however I said it.

“Maybe I didn’t say it as politely as I could have said it in the moment, but by no means was there any disrespect or anything like that, but obviously it was taken the wrong way. Yeah, I don’t think we should dwell on that, honestly. I said to the boys, if you want me to say, excuse me, please, then yeah, my bad.”

The Americans and Europeans went back out on the course to cheer on their teammates. When play wrapped up for the day, Scheffler and the Americans were walking back through the main grandstand, on the 18th.

Sky Sports were interviewing European captain, Luke Donald when their cameras picked up Scheffler seeking out Fleetwood, then Rose, to exchange hugs and pleasantries.

Sky cameras also focused on how Scottie Scheffler went to speak with several members of the European team, after his match. The world number one also sought out European vice captain Francesco Molinari to see if he was okay after the 15th hole flare-up.

Scheffler is a staggering 0-4-0 from his four matches and has not won in his last eight Ryder Cup matches. He will be hoping to gain a victory on Singles Sunday, despite Team USA being in a deep, deep hole and all looking lost.
