The legendary actor Michael J Fox once said “Family is not an important thing. It’s everything” – and scientist and food entrepreneur Samantha Forrest would heartily agree. So much so that when she decided to start her own business, Fussy Food Plates, it was inevitable it would centre around family.

She and her husband Barry McCarthy have their own lovely family – two young boys and a girl – but going back even further, Samantha experienced first-hand how extended family was there for her, her brother and her mother when tragedy struck them.
