A British man has been accused of raping a Norwegian tourist in an abandoned building on a Greek holiday island.
The 25-year-old, who has not yet been named, is alleged to have lured the 24-year-old woman from a crowd before sexually assaulting her.
The Norwegian tourist, who was on holiday in Rhodes with her family, went out for drinks with her sister on the night of September 24 on Orfanidou Street, a road full of bars and nightclubs on the seafront.
There, she met a group of men including the 25-year-old Briton.
He took her away from the group under the guise of wanting a conversation with her, before taking her to the abandoned building, according to local media.
After hearing movement from outside the building during the alleged attack, she managed to escape and run to the beach, before returning to her hotel to ask her help.
She picked out the alleged perpetrator in a police lineup, telling officers that one of the men ‘looks like him’.

She said the perpetrator wore an earring and had drunk alcohol.
Cops also took items of clothing she was wearing at the time of the attack, including her underwear, to be sent for laboratory tests.
Police said the suspect is thought to have been temporarily staying in a hotel in the Fanes area of Rhodes
It comes just two months after a Belgian teenager was arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a young British tourist off Rhodes.
The 16-year-old alleged victim told police that she had been groped twice without her consent while in the sea near the Ialysos seafront.
She, with her father, complained that the 15-year-old suspect had made inappropriate contact in the water on the beach in front of their hotel.
