A group of Donegal designers and suppliers are partnering up to provide stress-free, affordable interior design for families rebuilding after defective blocks.

The ‘Rebuild My Home’ service has been developed by local interior design studio La Maison, founded by Donegal designers Claire McDonough and Anne Blake, who bring both professional expertise and personal experience to the project.

Having lived through the upheaval of defective blocks themselves, they understand the financial strain, the disruption to family life, and the emotional weight that comes with starting over. Their vision is to give homeowners not just design guidance, but also peace of mind and practical savings at a time when every decision feels overwhelming.

Rebuild My Home offers a clear and affordable pathway through the difficult process of choosing finishes, colours, and furnishings. With carefully curated colour palettes, pre-matched finishes, and established partnerships with trusted local suppliers, the service removes the stress of endless decision-making while helping homeowners create spaces that feel harmonious and welcoming.

The designers explain that around ninety percent of homes can be styled using one of their palettes, which allows suppliers to stock in bulk, reduce costs, and pass on meaningful savings to customers. In this way, the initiative combines style and practicality with genuine value for money.

Just as importantly, Rebuild My Home is rooted in the local economy. McDonough and Blake have partnered with long-standing Donegal suppliers they know and trust, including Global Tiles & Bathrooms, Carpet Interiors, FloorIt, McGinley Furniture, Grove Furnishings, Spratt Fireplaces, Forker Blinds, Ben Sweeney Electrical, Irwin Electrical, Lighting Concepts, Letterkenny Glass, Callaghan Doors and Watson Hire. By sourcing everything locally, families can keep their projects close to home while also helping to sustain jobs and livelihoods across the county.

“As a local business, we see first-hand the challenges families are facing with defective block rebuilds,” says Maria Keys, Carpet Interiors. “Rebuild My Home brings structure to what can feel like a very overwhelming process. It allows us as suppliers to plan better, keep costs down, and ultimately give customers the value and service they deserve. We’re proud to be part of something that not only helps homeowners but also keeps business rooted in Donegal.”

At its heart, Rebuild My Home is about more than materials and finishes – it is about creating houses that support family life. Living spaces are designed to encourage connection and comfort, while bedrooms and private spaces are tailored to provide rest and retreat. From lighting plans and storage solutions to natural materials and tonal palettes, every detail is considered so that homeowners can move back into spaces that feel functional, beautiful, and uniquely theirs.

Rebuild My Home is being launched with an introductory consultation fee of €250, available until December 2025. As demand is already high, availability is limited and early booking is recommended. For more information or to arrange a consultation, visit www.rebuildmyhome.ie.
